: sheesh. Composer is one of the better tools

You are absolutely right. From the first install I thought I was sure that KPT 3.0, KPT Convolver, and Black Box worked well with some minor exceptions. (That's the filter I use on a regular basis.) Now I tried to get Black Box to load, but no way.
There is a new IC beta available at Microsoft, but they don't care to mention what the changes are compared with the first one. KPT still loads and works, but as before the previews are *way* too dark and thus makes the filters pretty useless.
I'm not really surprised that the Photoshop Filter Factory creations don't work since they are *very* special, but common ones like Black Box, KPT, etc. really ought to work flawlessly. If Microsoft cared a bit about communication, we would at least know if it will work in the release version.
I sent a bug report immediately after the first beta release, including a question about a very serious problem making it impossible to use Composer and GIF Animator in tandem, but no reply despite a duplicate to the top of the food chain = no more bug reports from me. I'm getting more and more irritated by the arrogance in some corners of the software industry!
Happy holidays,
