I have tried PhotoDraw 2000, and I find its features to be superior--yet similar--to those of Image Composer. Many of the tools function in the same way, but there are some fundamental differences in the basic drawing tools.
As it is a more complex program, it runs kind of slowly on my Pentium 200, so I think you're going to need powerful hardware to get any real work done.
The effects are much improved, and some interesting 3D modeling tools have been added. The interface is a little quirky compared to that of Image Composer, but it's fairly consistent and easy to learn.
Hope this helps you.
