hardware key error

Due to a problem I have had to reinstall QuarkXPress 3.32.
But now, each time I try to run the program, I get the following message:
"Please shut down your Macintosh, install the hardware key and run QuarkXPress again #0 [5]"
The hardware key is plugged and it worked fine two days ago.

Is the hardware key broken?
Is it a program error? In this case, what can I do?
