Well, I have been trying to do some DTP for much needed cash in order to boost my business, so this is a very important issue for me.
I had been trying to use Corel - versions 7 - 8, which I tried in succession. I have found Corel to be the most frustrating gadget ever produced and I hate it with a passsion.
If it were a person, i would not only have sacked it, but I would have kicked it's ass and told it to go and wash! It's full of bugs and the only moral thing for the writer of this nasty piece of work to do is shoot him/her self.
Anyway, I am looking to UPGRADE - yes, UPGRADE to Micrografx designer. I had a shareware copy of this (once) and it is by far the best DTP package I have ever got my hands on. I would like to say also that I have found PP by the same company a very robust and feature-rich package.
The main thing is - it works!!! Trouble free and without any apparent bugs.
I would recomend that, whoever you are, you staffed your machine with these products, if you are at all serious about getting your work done to a high standard and without having to start your machine over and over. It seems to me that Corel, Adobe, and some of these other makes are slow, mem heavy and very expensive...
Well, that's my opinion... Take it or leave it:)
From
A very frustrated DTPer.
