I need to import [or place] a spreadsheet's worth of data into a book.
This book is a list of restaurants with address, hours, etc., about 20 fields'
entries, most are a Y/N entry [parking, reservations, patio], and one not
too long Comments field to sum up. I'd like to -- what, tag? -- preserve
the fields within each record in some way so that after I lay out a
master page, I can import/place the data and then the fields' entries will
line up where they ought to. Is this an impossible dream? HELP!
I'm a novice with PageMaker and Quark. Both might have some
capability to handle such a task, but I can't figure out how thus far.
I'm hoping NOT to to end up pasting and fiddling with every page's
[restaurant's] entry to jigger the bits of data into place. But I'm getting
discouraged...
The spreadsheet is only 136 entries long, but the prospect of copying &
pasting each netry to its page seems like the dumbest solution possible.
Anyone with expertise, please consider saving my life!
TIA, Al
[I can save the data as any form of database file as well, if it's easier.]
