Thank you for your input. I have to say, though, that we DID test an HP 8500, and for $8,000, it was definitely not worth it. This printer claims to be something like 2400 dpi, but lasers do not do true dpi higher than 1200. The printer would throw in extra dots at random, which would be fine if I was just doing text documents or graphs. But for pictures and photographs, it really distorted the images.
It was very fast, but I didn't want to sacrifice quality for speed.
Even if I set the printer to only 1200 dpi, I was still not that impressed.
