: : : Does anyone have a feel for Framemaker5.0 and perhaps shed some light as to whether it's worth having in addition to PM6.05. and when would use it in preference to PM6.05 or Quark?
: : : Thanks in anticipation

: : Hiya Bill,

: : I'm not postitive, but it seems to me I've read that people who're doing alot of database publishing prefer Framemaker to just about anything else.

: Hi,

: FrameMaker 5.0 is ideal for publishing long,
: complex technical documents such as user manuals.

: It competes mainly with Ventura and Interleaf.

Hi Bill:
I've used FrameMaker since 1991 and
I wouldn't use anything else for long technical
documents, although I use it for everything else
as well. It has a high learning curve and there
are some things it can't do compared to Quark,
but they are few and far between, although with
a little work you can make it do anything.
