While you quote that Adobe's earnings figures are 50/50 Win/Mac, you should take a look at the well-known stat that Apple's Macintosh has only a 7 to 8% market share of the entire personal computing world. I think that says something right there, doesn't it.
There was an implication in the original post by Alain that Mac users pay too much or more for their equipment ("huge investment"). I've read more and more lately that Macs have become a better choice in business settings, because of their cost advantage overall, when considering training, upkeep and all other concerns.
