: : : : : : help.. I have worked with Pagemaker for 6+ yrs. When we upgraded our computer and went microsoft I just started using microsoft Publish. I need some help to deside to upgrade my Pagemaker (5.0 I think) or stick with Publish or even upgrade that to '97. I don't think that the PM upgrade from 5.0 would be any more $$ than MS Pub '97, or if so, not much more. It is great for internal newsletters for the novice, but a professional needs to be able to do color trapping, : 4 color separations,etc. MSpub also is finicky with changes to print drivers, meaning that your pages will repaginate when run off your commercial printers imagesetter. This can happen even : if you enclose the fonts you used. PM6 does not have this problem. If your not worried about losing the last line of type, or close color, then go for it. As an electronic cameraman/stripper, I have to : take the Pub files and convert them (manually) to PM6 files for any 4 color work that comes in. Go PM6...It is also cross platformable with ease. If I had my way, I would not accept Publisher files for commerical printing...but our color photocopier is just : perfect for it.....thanks...just got a Pub file yesterday, and had to vent!
