FrameMaker is a wonderful software for producing lengthy manuals. In many ways, it's superior to PageMaker and Quark for this. Although it isn't as good for "design-intensive" stuff like newsletters, it's better for long manuals because it will automatically generate a table of contents, and it will do it correctly. Quark won't. It will also automatically generate an index, if something is tagged to go in the index. I know Quark won't, and I'm not sure about PageMaker.
Anyway, the problem is, most printers and service bureaus have never heard of FrameMaker. Has anyone found a service bureau that supports this package? There's a market for one!
