: Hope someone can help. I'm using PM6.5 (Win), and when I try to place a Word (7.0 or '97) file, I get a "do not know how to place" error in PM. I can place the text by copy/special paste, or by "insert object," but obviously cannot edit the text this way.
: I've reinstalled the filters for Word 6.0-7.0, etc., and the dialog box that pops up with the "error" even lists Word filters. When I click on the Word filter in the box, it just goes back to the same box, and still will not place the text.
: I'd appreciate it is anyone has worked thru this problem.
: TIA,
: Beth
I use PM5 and 6. Try pasting special but as "unformatted text" or "RTF" text. You would lose styles but the text would come in. That's how I put Word files into PM5 and 6. You may try pasting into a text block, too.
