: : In the past, I've used ClickArt for Mac and have been able to open the images in Illustrator to modify them. I'm now working in Windows and have purchased the "Incredible 65,000 Image Pak" for WINDOWS. I can't open the files in Illustrator. Anyone know how to open the Windows version files to modify them?
: Sandy: The images on the ClickArt CDs that you need to edit are the .wmf files (Windows MetaFile). They are similar to Illustrator/EPS images in that they are vector files. I'm assuming that you have tried to open the .wmf files. I usually edit my .wmf files in CorelDRAW!, but in order to do so I import the file, not open, into the application. In the case of CorelDRAW!, the image imports as a grouped image that can be ungrouped and edited. You might want to try this technique with AI.
Thanks! I'll try that. I may be able to avoid pulling out my hair after all!
