Do you need to be all-Quark or all-Adobe?

For you graphics arts professionals and DTPers (I am neither), I would love to get your opinion on this question:

How much of a benefit is it to use all image processing/DTP applications from the same vendor (i.e. Photoshop/Illustrator/Pagemaker and CorelDRAW/Ventura/PhotoPaint)?

Or is it just as easy to mix and match whatever you think is "best of breed" by category? (for example, Quark Xpress with Photoshop?)

Do people buy, or do stores sell "graphics" software in bundles or suites like Microsoft does with word processing and software? Would this be a good thing?

Extremely interested in your opinions.
