ERROR IN STYLE SHEET

When I try to define styles it comes back & says "Cannot record changes to the style sheet. Internal error: Bad record index 7610:20515" I can insert previous work discs in Drive A and edit/add to this work and even print but cannot define a new style on a new job? What gives?

Should I reload PM6? Or should I call Adobe?
