Do I need a laser printer or postscript printer

Most of the laser printers I have been looking at are not postscript, the ones that
are - are very expensive.

I wanted to output camera ready artwork-I have a inkjet now. Do I really need a post
script-because I can't afford one, should I
keep my inkjet or buy a non postscript laser?
