: I'm considering a career change from being a secretary to working in dtp. I've read the postings in here and gotten a lot of valuable advice, for which I thank you all. However, I'm wondering what anyone can tell me about making the switch. I need to learn the programs - I have very rudimentary knowledge. I've been advised to go through temp agencies that train you and then send you out on jobs - has anyone done that? I've also been told to take classes - the competition is so tough out there I need to have thorough knowledge before I can start working in the field. My eventual goal is to run a business from my home. Any and all advice will be appreciated.
