Hi Joyce!
Sorry to say so, but you need a postscript printer!
If your gonna make quality newsprints you need one. As long as you use linple graphics as *.tif and *.jpg images a standard printer does the work.
The problems starts when your starting to work with Postscript images (as created in Photoshop and Illusrator). They need a printer with postscript to be printed.
The nice thing is that the HP series have a printer named M4 (that is not a postscript printer) that can be upgraded to a MV4ii printer that is a postscript printer.
This printer is also manufactured under several vendors. One vendor is NewGen, but it is realy a HP Printer!
Sorry to say so, but it's worth the money. I have been lucky to work with one for 3 years and they are great, no truble at all. :-)
