: Help! I have a number of graphical ads done in Quark for the PC. My task is to find an efficient way to distrubte these files to about 30 different groups. The problem is, some of these groups use Quark, some Pagemaker. Some use PC, some use Mac.
: Will Quark files transfer efficiently to Pagemaker? Will the files PC files be able to be read in Mac (in either Quark or PM) with the image quality intact?
Hi!
I meet that problem every day and I have to say that Bods solution is not the way to do it!
There is two ways to it.
There is a free pluggin to PM 6 on the www.adobe.com page that you can ship with the material. That is also for Pc and Mac.
There is no problem converting form mac to pc or from pc to mac. The only problem is the fonts! Be shure to use fonts that are alike on both mac and pc. (Times, helvetica, futura etc..) Be also shure to use type1 fonts and not True Type!
The oter way is to save the page as an *.EPS file. Then the reciver can open it as an image in any DTP software. BUT also here it fonts is a BIG toruble (The man who solves the font problem, will make some serious money!!)
If your not shure is the reciver have your fonts, open the *.EPS file in ex. Illustrator and convert the text to curves and save the file.
Then the font problem is no longer a problem.
The problem with Bobs solution is that *.pdf files does not handle CMYK images correctly!!! You do also have the font problem!
Hope this helped you!
