: I am currently freelancing after a position I held for 17 years as a graphic artist with a well known medical center was no longer needed. Downsizing I think they called it. Any advice on how to get my name out there? I so want to work from home and watch my kids growup. Had it with the corperate world.
start with a local city wide effort. Get your plan together. One fellow located every printing shop in the city (or pretty close to it) and gave out a qualifications list, a bc, brochure, letterhead in cusotm envelop with a fiew choice samples. His specialty was cartooning and the phone began ringing. He followed up weekly until he had a steady clientele (this all took 3 months) and is now making in excess of $75,000.00 a year. Do not pull your hair out! Pray and God will lead you douwn the path of wealth.
