In Reply to: MS Word to FrameMaker Conversion posted by Fred Beckman on June 24, 1997 at 17:53:41:
: I'm in the process of trying to convince my employer to switch the production of our technical manuals from Word (v7.0) to FrameMaker.
: The major concern is how long it will take to convert the Word documents to FrameMaker. My hope is that Frame comes with a decent conversion tool. Anyone with personal experience please chime in.

: I'm running with a Windows computer. The manuals are mostly text with placed graphics and many tables created in Word. The graphic images are a mix of eps, screen shots (.bmp and .wmf), and imported .plt files (originally created in autocad). The manuals are up to 10 mg in size (yes, the graphics are embedded, but they can be easily changed to links if necessary).
