I have been in the Pre-press business fo rthe last 14 years. Quark is the most widely used, however Pagemaker is a very good program also. Stay away from building complex files in Corel, THEY DON'T PRINT. Small files from Corel are ok. Mac and PC skills are helpful. Learn them both. As far as choosing Quark or Pagemaker, I like Quark better.
