: I'm a 49 yr. old ex fine furniture maker, ex English Lit. major, who is reasonably comfortable on a PC. I've also edited a few newsletters and had a few articles and stories published over the years. My question is: Is it feasible for me to start a career in DTP at this stage of my life? Anyone else out there in a similar position?
Hey Bob,
Yup, I'm in exactly the same position. Published
a few articles, one short story, trying to get a book published,
thinking about DTP as a way to make money during
the day, thinking about a Quark class. Been working with Windows 95 for two years now and have dipped into Photoshop for a couple of months and love working on this stuff. There seem to be some jobs out there in production of, you know, corporate publications and stuff, so why not? I waited tables for 20 years. This seems like a good way to go. I'm 48.
Good luck. Let me know what happens. Why'd you stop making furniture?
