: Tell me about it.
I've recently submitted four illustrator 6 eps files to be output in Quark on a PC
The gent (who totally refuses to change his PC for a mac) held up production of
the history book we were working on for two weeks whilst these perfectly happy
eps files went winging back and forth, while we tried in vain to supply a font which
the poor man could see. He was convinced we sent him a currupt file.
Eventually sending him a TIFF version of the maps meant he could see them but, not knowing
how Quark only inserts a preview into its document and not the entire file, then sent the
quark document off to the bureau, which then duly sent back page proofs with only a PICT in place
Aaaargghhh!
Anyone else have tales of inept disasters like this?
Email me at mark@ifadesign.co.uk and maybe we can start and urban
myths of DTP thread.
