: Established illustrator wants to go digital. First question: Mac or PC? Any suggestions?
Well, You can't ask that question without getting a lot of flack from both sides of the fence. My opinion, for what it's worth. Start with a Mac. Right now, the Mac has the edge in graphic illustration programs. You can't get Adobe Dimensions for the PC yet.
The PC side of the coin is that they may have gotten the edge on the Mac as far as technology goes. Plus they are easier to build from the ground up.
Do your shopping, and don't rush out to buy anything. You may decide that you will want one of each, even if it's the Mac for graphic illustration, and the PC for everything else. There are few differences between the way a Mac runs and the way a PC runs.
Personally, I would suggest the Mac, because of the greater variety of software and plugin software that's available. But that doesn't mean that it can't be done on a PC. I'm using a 486 DX4-100 to do most of my work on, and a Mac LC III to run Dimensions.
Good Luck,
