This may not be the right forum, but I assume many of you use these products in addition to Illustrator. My last post was in reference to printing to PDF from Illustrator, and I since found it is from any application that the problem presents itself. I am now confused, because there seem to be several ways to do the same thing, create PDF. From Illustrator I was able to create PDF files with either the application's "save as PDF" or the "Adobe PDF writer" utility. There is also the Adobe PSprinter utility, and then the PDF plug-in. I am really confused as to which I can use for all my PDF needs in all applications, so I would like to choose between Laser Writer 8, PS printer, and PDF writer. I am running OS 8.5 and have not been able to get the PSprinter or the Laser Writer 8 driver to function--the "findfont" error appears from Distiller from Laser Writer 8 and Distiller crashes from PSprinter citing a type 3 error.
I realize this is a lot of information with many variables. Does anyone know of a (compact) source of info on what to use, how to set it up, where the files should be located in the folders, etc.? I can't seem to figure this one out.
I would be extemely grateful to anyone who might be able to help.
Thanks in advance
