Lucas,
I work cross-platform on a daily basis with Photo Shop and Illustator and have learned which formats translate well between the two platforms(mac & pc). There is no set rule. It basically depends on what the art contains and how it will be use - e.i. does it contain text?(fonts are not compatable across platforms), will it be imported into a publishing program?(eps file format works best in this situation) ect. Its also easier if you start on the pc because the mac has no problem reading pc files but the pc can't read mac files without a translating program.
