: Is it possible to shadow images as you can in Photoshop, to give the glow affect, in illustrator?
The easiest way to simulate Photoshop-like shadows in Illustrator is with KPT Vector Effects by
MetaTools. It automatically creates a variety of vector-based shadows via preset styles and manipulation
of cool controls until you find just the effect you're seeking! Check out the MetaTools web site for more
information. (Vector Effects also works with Freehand.)
Another different type of plug-in is Alien Skin's Stylist, which quickly changes any object in Illustrator
to a preset style. (It's tough for me to explain the full range of this plug-in; I recommend checking out
Alien Skin's web site as well!)
Hope this helps!
Peace,
