making text curve?!

Hello. I made an image in photoshop and it is oval shaped. I would like to have text curve against this oval but only halfway. I only need text curved along the bottom of the oval. I know that Illustrator and Photoshop can be used together to do this but the problem is, I'm using both these programs at school and they don't have manuals or books on how to do this. So I have no idea what to do. Can anyone please help me, kind of step by step....??
