Question about watercolor diffusion techniques

Hi,
Been trying to get the look of water colors bleeding. Changing the water settings makes the paint bleed but only in a homogenous and blurry way (and only to a limited extent). I want the look of paint bleeding massively into coarse paper with an almost bush-like effect. Kinda hard to explain... Anyway, if you have any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
