: need to do some text using the liquid metal pluggin....can the text tool be used in combination with this pluggin?or can it only be drawn freehand?....has anyone found a work around method?thank you!
Yeah Mon, you can do it.
1. Use the Metal plug-in to make a metallic image.
2. Use standard metal from the map pop-up menu. Select paintbrush and paint and paint metal that you think will create an interesting reflection. Keep the Refraction set low (0) and the same with the Amount setting. (1 or 2)
3. Make a new file and create some text.
4. Choose Shapes>Convert to floater.
5. Select File>Clone source. Choose the other file that you made.(the metallic one)
6. Choose Effects> Surface Control> Apply Surface texture. Select the type's mask in the pop up menu. Adjust the reflection and softness sliders to achieve the desired effect. Left decreases the effect, Right increases.
You can utilize other effects afterwards to strenghthen the effect.
Have fun!
