I want to broaden my DTP horizons beyond MS Publisher but I need a good graphics editing/creation tool. My research says Adobe's Photoshop is one of the best, however the price is a bit steep for my needs right now.

Is there a home/non-professional version of Photoshop, or some other comparable product that provides a reasonably functional set of capabilities?
