rasterizing Quark EPS into Photoshop

I want to rasterize a 4C book cover saved as a Quark EPS into a high resolution Photoshop file in order to change it to grayscale, but when I try, any scanned images on the cover seem to noticably shift up. Type is ok. Anybody have a clue as to what is causing Photoshop to move the images?
