First (as you probably know): color is more simple
then people seem to think these days.
I think the problem started when CMYK was to be displayed
on a RGB monitor.
Make it simple, just like in a conventionell
drum-scanner; use the software binuscan ColorPro.
Supports any CCD. Produce a RGB image (lets call it a
"slide") on your screen (with or without the help
of binuscan) and the you separate (CMYK) in binuscan
and you'll get the same quality as from you drum.
binuscan produces a separation that is, in any case,
"full range" and then the paper sets the "gammut-
limitation". Even colorprinter-profiles can be done
in binuscan. binuscan has ICC-support; it leavs the
ICC-tags untouched.
binuscan also gives you a higher productivity.
Good luck.
