I have a picture that I was asked to retouch. It dates back to the turn of the century. I have info on fixing cracks and contrast, but the picture also looks stained and pitted (almost like sand grains) in areas. Does anyone have tips on how to cover or get rid of the stains and pitting? I would also like to hand color the image using Photoshop. However, will this effect the process of cleaning up the stains and pitting?
