Go to LAYER: FLATTEN IMAGE, and then choose SAVE AS to make a jpeg file.
PhotoShop 3.0+ automatically creates a layer when you add type, and psd is
the only format that supports layers. As a side note, I'd be sure to save the
original files before saving jpeg versions as the jpeg format uses brutally
lossy compression. For a button, the GIF format might work better & would
probably also be smaller.
