Although I am not a graphic illustrator,
I came across your communication string
by accidental search result. The answer
to your question, or at least part of it,
is posted on the Internet! Free!!!
Check out "Jeff's Photoshop Tips"
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Way/9571/tip20.html
It gives a detailed explanations, with sample images, on
how to use the Photoshop "polar" filter to
wrap text on a circular curve. Looks good to me!
This wouldn't solve the problem of text on an
arbitrary path, though. But it may solve your biggest
problems.
