Can't create legible text for 75 x 57 pixel logo

Hello,
I am trying to place text (just a URL)underneeath our logo. I have version 5.0 of PhotoShop. Our logo is currently about 75 pixes wide and 57 pixels long. I figured it should be about 67 pixels long to fit www.companyname.com underneath, but I can't seem to make it legible.

I have tried rendering it and deleting some unneeded pixels, but it still didn't look too good. Any suggestions??

PS-Celeste: I used your tips for a transparent background and it worked fast, and looks great! Thanks so much!
