: : : : I work in PC/Windows 3.5, CorelDraw, Hijaak Pro, Freelance and Photoshop. : : : Someone sent me two separate black bitmapped charts for a report cover. I : : : colored one of the chart's line blue in Photoshop. The idea I had in mind was to overlap just the blue line over the black line chart in Quark so I could make color separations for the print shop. I gave : : : the blue line a .tiff extension before importing it into QX in order to make the tiff transparent in Quark so that the background of the black lined graph could show through. I am unhappy with the quality of the blue line tiff, forgetting that tiffs usually compress files, and since the chart is a bitmap, the quality of the picture isn't good to begin with. : : : Does anyone know of a way that I can preserve the original quality of bitmaps so that when the bitmap is imported into QX, I can make the bitmap transparent.
