Font Problems/ printing to Lino rip 40

Hi,
I'm running 3.3 and 4.04 on a PC windows network running to a rip 40, the fonts lose there kerning, the type either gets extra space in between or the letters overlap when it comes out on film. prints ok to other printers though.
ANy body have thoughts on this?
