Master pages, and a few other things

Can someone help me out please? I've recently started using Quark Express 3.31 on a Mac. Although familiar with PC, I've never used a Mac before, ad never DTP software either. I have some specific questions -
1. If I have some master pages in one file, and I want to copy them to asnother, how can I do it and retain the co-ordinates of the text and picture boxes etc?
2. Is there any difference between what can be done with Quark on Mac vs Quark on Windows 95? Are the file formats used the same?
3. What is the difference between a single page and a facing page on a document layout? why can't I insert a facing page master page in a file of sigle pages?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

George
