7Office continued

You can see screen shots of the program and read more about it at http://www.7Office.com. You can also download a free 30 day unrestricted version of the program and put it to the test yourself.

Overall Evaluation:

Installation: Although I ran into trouble at first due to something going wrong during my download, the installation process is quick and easy.

Learning Curve: This program is pretty easy to learn. 7Office is very intuitive and uses the same procedures through out. It may look a bit intimidating at first because of all that it offers and the power within. Don't let that scare you though, just jump right in and you'll be using it really quickly.

Benefits over other programs similar to it: Benefits? 7Office has many programs all together in one interface and they are integrated. One entry will update all related areas. The only programs I have seen that come close to doing this are much more difficult to learn and require quite a bit of customization.

Overall Impression: I was impressed. The wealth of information that can be gathered and the ease of use make this a fantastic program. Designers can keep track of what project is progressing how fast for which client. Secretaries can keep track of who is important in what company and when the next meeting is for them. Writers can track what article was submitted where, when they were paid, payments expected, progress on a novel, etc. Business owners can track new contacts, leads, payments outstanding, credit terms and more. There is just tons of information that can be tracked with this program. I can see this program being of use to a variety of different professions.

Minimum Macintosh Configuration: System 7.1 or higher, 3 megs of ram, 15 megs hard disk space.

Tested on: Pentium 120, 16 megs ram, compressed hard drive. I have also tried it out on my little Winbook 486/75, 8 megs ram and it's a little slower but still works fine.

Misc. Notes: 12 users may network into a single copy of 7Office simultaneously.

Supports IPX/SPX and TCP/IP on both Mac and Windows, and AppleTalk (System 7 or 8 file sharing) on Mac. With an additional server and licence, can serve up to 99 users simultaneously.
